Boxes of Love
The purpose of the Box of Love® outreach is to provide a Thanksgiving meal to families who might not otherwise have one. Each Box of Love (BOL) feeds a family of six. Each box holds a turkey with stuffing or a ham or chicken (depending on what is culturally appropriate to the neighborhood), along with vegetables, potatoes, juice, yams, apple or cranberry sauce, bread, fruit, dessert, and more ... plus Scriptures.
They are delivered to the doorstep by caring members of neighborhood churches that are located within immediate proximity to the family. These churches are uniquely positioned to offer life-giving, gospel-centered relationships to these families all year round.
Three Boxes of Love. Three changed-life stories.
The options can be very limited for families that are struggling around the holidays. When it comes to Thanksgiving the options are usually either to celebrate in a church basement or community center with strangers, or to not celebrate at all. Boxes of Love gives families the dignity of a third choice, the one that most families would prefer, to celebrate with loved ones within the four walls of their own home.
A Box of Love contains everything needed for a full Thanksgiving meal for an entire family up to six. They are delivered to the doorstep by caring members of neighborhood churches that are located within immediate proximity to the family. These churches are uniquely positioned to offer life-giving, gospel-centered relationships to these families all year round.
Our ultimate vision is to see the local church be all our Father desires her to be — to the neighborhood, to the city, and to the world.
