“WE HAVE A YEARLY GOAL OF GIVING OVER 5,000 PAIR OF SOCKS TO THE HOMELESS”
In our time working with the homeless of our city we have identified socks as being a big need and want for those who live on the street. Improper footwear, long periods of walking and standing, and prolonged exposure to moisture lead to a number of foot diseases that cause infections which can become severe and disabling and even life-threatening. Providing new socks helps prevent and alleviate skin conditions caused by wearing one pair of socks until they deteriorate from filth and wear. We routinely give out socks but make a big push in October right before the colder weather sets in.
